Getting On My Favorite Reality Show
It was no secret to me that I was obese. At some point in my life, I grew tired of the fact, and felt compelled to fix it. I don’t do things the way a normal person does, and my decision about how to lose the weight was no different. There was a reality show about people losing weight and I was going to be on it. Before I could be declared the winner, I would have to be a contestant.
I went onto the internet, and took a look at a site called biggest loser forum, which I found out had all types of information about diet and weight loss, exercise programs, helpful hints and they even had chat rooms where people can discuss the issues surrounding their weight loss program with people who are going through similar situations. The website led me to a place where I could download the forms that supplied all of the information about how to apply for the Biggest Loser. The process included filling out the application and creating a video The videotape was supposed to create a compelling story that convince the casting people that I was the perfect candidate for the show. I had to condense my whole life story into just a few minutes that would be fun to watch. I was aware that the only way that I could be chosen by the judges was through this information that I was compiling and putting into an envelope.
I filled out my application, made my video and waited, knowing that if I was lucky enough to be chosen to be on the show I would be taught how to lose weight fast, something that I knew would help me to live a long and healthy life that I could share with my family, and something that I felt was much needed. Despite all of my efforts I was sent a rejection letter. I figured they must have had people who needed more help them me. Even thought the show turned me down, I knew that there were still issues for me to deal with. Despite the fact that I wouldn’t have the whole world to watch me lose weight, I was still going to lose the weight.
I made the commitment to start to eat healthy and begin exercising, which at first meant doing sets of six pack ab exercises in my living room every night until I was able to get the money together to join a fitness club and get the professional help that I needed to reach the goals that I had set for myself, and to lead me in my new healthy lifestyle. I did not go on any type of fad diet, I just started eating right. To my great surprise, I began to shed some of the pounds. I was watching the Biggest Loser season and comparing my weight loss to the people I had hoped to compete against. I was losing the weight the right way. I had the support of fitness professionals and of my family. I stated to enjoy the new way I was doing things. I was becoming more sociable with every passing day. Despite the apprehensions I had about giving up all the things that I thought gave me comfort, I replaced them with many other new things. Most importantly I was happy.
I wasn’t chosen to be on the Biggest Loser, but that did not stop me. I was able to lose the weight without their help and able to start enjoying my life. The Biggest Loser did play a part in my journey. If I didn’t make the decision to apply I would never have been turned down. I took the rejection and used it as my motivation to get healthy. It was great when I could let them see my transformation and tell them they messed up. I know that I am now the Biggest Loser because I am healthy.
