I’m Still Not Excessively Overenthusiastic About The Hulk Character
I just recently bought a copy of The Incredible Hulk DVD and I have to say it’s groovier than I hoped it to be. We watch scientist Bruce Banner living in darkness, scrubbing the world for an antidote. However the warmongers who dream of abusing his powers will not leave him be, nor will his desire to hook up with the only woman he has ever loved, Betty Ross.
The Incredible Hulk stars the always powerful Edward Norton. It also stars the beautiful Liv Tyler and every bit as real Tim Roth and directed by the gifted Louis Leterrier. The flick pulled in a massive $134 million at the ticket office since it’s launch June 13th. It was wrote by Zak Penn and Edward Harrison, produced by Avi Arad, Gale Anne Hurd and Kevin Feige.
I’m still not too enthusiastic about the character, but the picture is speedy, well acted, and ejoys that difficult comic book flavour. From its metaphorical anger management to a purely passionless not so incredible hunk, this grand on the muscle mass and poor on the drama The Incredible Hulk Blu-ray is not exactly new and improved, but does shape its own brand of differently conceived mega action magic. A solid thrill ride. There are a couple witty bites, and the whole moves swiftly.
Nonetheless, even if there weren’t script and acting inadequacies — and there for certain are — the big issue with both Hulk pictures is that the leading character is an unconvincing CG creation. Tedious pacing and a muted sound production only contribute to the CGI disaster imposed on what should have been a believable superhero produced with 21st century engineering.
On the whole The Incredible Hulk is a worthwhile waste of a night. Crazy a design as it is, The Incredible Hulk actually calculates as something of a success. The Incredible Hulk provides the action and excitement to please comic book fans and re-energize this failing franchise.
